Replacement of bus shelters in Edinburgh.  The City Council and their advertising partner, JCDecaux, are about to start a programme to replace and improve advertising bus shelters at key locations around the city. This is part of a wider ten-year partnership to revitalise public advertising, install well-designed and maintained street furniture and billboards that are funded by advertising. The partnership will also be exploring innovative solutions for other schemes, such as way-finding signage, which will benefit residents, visitors and local business.  There are four bus stops in this category in the Firrhill area on Colinton Mains Drive, Oxgangs Road North and Redford Road.  The work should take place during July and September 2015, during which time temporary bus stops will be in place.  To get further information go to the City Council's website

Disabled Persons' Parking Places (Scotland) Act 2009 : This legislation came into force on 1 October 2009. As part of the process to enforce the advisory disabled parking bays, the City of Edinburgh Council is promoting a Traffic Regulation Order in accordance with the terms of the Local Authorities' Traffic Orders (Procedure) (Scotland) Regulations 1999.

In 2011 the City of Edinburgh Council introduced controlled disabled parking places and a Street Notice was issued listing the affected streets, some of which are in the Firrhill ward. More recently in 2015, Traffic Regulation Orders have been issued for the purpose of placing Enforcement Notices on street disabled parking bays.
